We recommend renting a car. A 4x4 is advisable during winter (September to March). For an added experience, we partner with Iceland Explore, a small company offering guided tours with an Icelandic driver. More details are on our Offers page.

Yes, our cottages are on 12 hectares of private land, surrounded by 500 hectares of lava fields. While there are blinds in the bathroom, the cottages are designed for complete privacy. During summer, we provide sleep masks if you prefer full darkness.

The traditional Icelandic hot tub is set to 40°C, designed for relaxation without jets or lights. To lower the temperature slightly, you can leave it open for about an hour to cool. Please secure the lid when finished to retain heat.

  • Free Cancellation: Up to 15 days before arrival for direct bookings, 30 days for Airbnb bookings.
  • No Refunds: For no-shows or cancellations within the penalty period, including flight cancellations, sickness, weather issues, or other travel disruptions. Travel insurance is highly
    recommended.
  • Force Majeure: In case of force majeure events, we offer a full refund for affected nights or partial refunds if technical issues impact your stay.
  • Self-Check-In: We do not have a reception, but help is available within 15 minutes if needed.
  • Two Guests Maximum: Each cottage can host up to two guests

The Northern Lights are visible from late August to April on clear nights. Check the aurora forecast at en.vedur.is to increase your chances.

Both cottages are identical in design and privacy. Blár features blue accents, while Grænn has green decor, both surrounded by black lava sand with views of Iceland’s volcanic landscape.

For lost items, we can arrange a meet-up near Hella or mail them for a fee of €30 plus postage. For any damages, we reserve the right to charge for repairs or replacements, with documentation provided.
